@dacatholicbandorgan Everything that is not in communion with Rome will die out, for only the Holy Father's blessed will be eternal. It is a pity they are still taking a long time for this, because the SSPX can really help the Church out as she struggles with so many anti-Catholics within the Catholic Church itself.

What many don't realise is that Lefebvre only became "traditionalist" once the Vatican withdrew its approval of his society. In the early years at Econe, seminarians were not only permitted but expected to attend the new mass in the holidays and he was content to have Mass at the seminary with the first half of the mass in French facing the congregation from a lectern. Only after the problems began did 1962 become the liturgical rule, leading to the expulsion of those who disagreed with this.

Secondly, Bishop Fellay did not reject any offer in 2008, he simply stood by his original request that the traditional mass be ackowledged as legitimate for all priests of the Roman Rite and that the excommunications of 1988 be withdrawn and then doctrinal discussions could take place, since a "pracitcal agreement" without mutual understanding regarding the disagreements over the Council and Post-Council would noot be fruitful for anyone. The Pope granted these two requests & talks are ongoing.

The SSPX has to do something, weather they return to Rome, or become Sedvacantist. If the SSPX does not do anything, they will eventually die out in say 150-200 years (assuming Sedvacantism has not died out itsself).

@dblazek08 Christ sanctified the cross, not Peter my brother. His humility in being inverted may have been a greater and deeper meaning than the so called Vickers of Christ want you to believe. Forgive me

@AndreasAntoniusMaria I agree with your assessment 100%

I think Lefeverists means(sic) Traditional Catholics. Just as the Araian heretics probably called St. Athanasious and his efforts Athanasians or Athanatics or something.

The lies and distortions spewed in this video are truly disgusting and shameful.

They are NOT excommunicated. This group of priests have held on to the tradition of the Catholic faith, and should be thanked for keeping the traditional Mass alive!

@juggernette397: I remember the controversy of LeFebvre at the time of legal de jure excommunication at the time it occured. He signed a specific document promising not to consecrate any bishops w/o Papal approval. This is already forbidden under canon law. It is specified explicitely in canon law that to do has the AUTOMATIC penalty of excommunication. He was excommunicated in the very act of his rebellion against St. Peter. The Vatican only declared what he had done to himself.
He probably signed the papers because he did not recognise the significance of the mistakes written in these letters. He fully became aware of the mistakes after the council. A true man can correct his mistakes. This is pure anti Traditionalist propaganda from certain groups within the church whom fear the power of the Tradition. They thought it would die out in a few generations, and now it appears they were wrong.

Novus Ordo Propaganda at its worst. He had to sign for sake of obedience, which speaks volumes. When the shennanigans began, he was horrified for the wanton destruction of the liturgy.
