As all of you know we have a Gurmat Sangeet Academy in Sikh Centre in Silat Road Temple Complex. Here, the students learn Kirtan , using the Tabla, Harmonium and also other string instruments which our Sikh Gurus had used during their times . These string instruments taught here are Rebab, Taus,Tanpura, & Dilruba.
Currently there over 94 students, whose ages range from 5 years to 60 years. Over the last four days, a total of 44 students were assessed, and all 44 completed both the theory and practical assessments . The assessment of the students was done by Bhai Sukhwant Singh , who is the Principal, of Gurshabad Sanget Academy, Jawaddi Taksaal, Ludhiana. He was assisted by Bhai Jagjit Singh, from our Silat Road Kirtan Jatha and also by Surjit Singh Wasan, Chairman Sikh Advisory Board.
