It's a barge, these are flat floating beds or platforms towed by boats/ships that are used on rivers and sometimes lakes to transport cargo. It is not fake and it won't sink. We see them all the time going up the Danube and other european rivers. I'd imagine they are also widely on American and canadain rivers.
