The mellotron is hardly used anymore due to "tape stretch" issues.

one of most interesting electronic muscial instruments in the world...love their sound!can anybody tell me,what such a instrument costs?

actually, although each individual note corresponds to an individual tape, there are actual three different instruments on each tape, so a rack of tapes like the one shown contains all the notes for three instruments

yes, a single sound has an 8 second tape for every key so a "pack" like that one is basically just one sound
