  • how do you crank the handle and hold the spool at the same time?

also, do you know a good coating material for bare copper wire? similar to magnet wire coating, not the insulated stuff.

  • I have two hands lol. I don't know about using bare wire. Magnet wire has a very strong lacquer coating because you don't want to wire to short circuit.

  • Excuse my ignorance bro, but what are you using the triangular coils for man? Are U just showing that U can make any type of coil or have I missed an important step in the advancement of Bedini coil winding? Hey, as a side note, have you seen the dude that made a jig that twists the wires as they wind? It's awesome! Beats the hell out of laying out hundreds of feet of wire because it can all be done at home. I love it! Either way nice jig man. Keep up the good work! Rock On

  • Thank you,

This is just a coil winder for the alternator. I use a drill to wind my bedini coil. I am also working on a "fishing reel" type winder to make the coils better.

  • Thanks Jack...I am glad you are still watching! I love to build and see for myself that these contraptions are possible. The right formula is in our grasp!

  • can you use it to make homemade pickups like single coil pickups?

  • pretty sweet

  • Very nice winder and fine advice on rounding the edges and making the two slot angled. I'll begin building my own right away. Thanks!

  • People buy the wire precoated, i cant imagine an easy way to coat it yourself, its not impossible but it would take forever to do. I'm sure a plastic based clear coat would work.

  • i built one once but i used a BBQ rotisery motor the crank it,,but great job 5 stars ..cheers

  • yes i know, i was asking if you know what material a DIY person like me can coat bare wire with. i have a lot of bare copper wire that i would like to try coating myself.

would a polyeurethane or varithane work?

  • cool winder will work great to make my generator,Thanks
