Using the exclusive photographs and first hand testimony of former U.S. Marine Captain Brian Steidle, THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK takes the viewer on an emotionally charged journey into the heart of Darfur, Sudan, where an Arab run government is systematically executing a plan to rid the province of it's black African citizens. As an official military observer, Steidle had access to parts of the country that no journalist could penetrate. He was unprepared for what he would witness and experience, including being fired upon, taken hostage, and being unable to intervene to save the lives of young children. Ultimately frustrated by the inaction of the international community, Steidle resigned and returned to the US to expose the images and stories of lives systematically destroyed. THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK opens in NYC on July 25 at the IFC Center and nationwide in select cities starting in early August.

I am ashamed and emberassed by a couple of these comments. Sad to know that I live in the same country with such ignorant human beings. So many Americans go through their day with blinders on completely oblivious to what is happening in the world. This is a matter of humanity and I am ashamed of our government for not doing more to help these poor people.
jesus love's me this i know , here is how he shows me how , you dumb asses if there's a god at all he sure has hell don't give a flying fuck about these people !
I don't think their taking volunteers on the ground in Sudan because its too dangerous. At one point all the NGOs pulled out of Darfur after coming under fire from the Janjaweed.
You could just join the Peace Corps. There are always people in need.
Um Cheif, Darfur is in Africa. Its not in the middle east. These are innocent people who are dying because of their fucked up government. YOU need to understand what you are talking about before you incorrectly give your opinion. I am embarrassed for you, and the fact that we come from the same country. p.s. nobody said anything about bush.
Umm...snowwolfsabertooth could always start a weapons funneling operation to the two main anti-Janjaweed Rebel organizations in an attempt to neutralize the situation.
Officially sanctioned US intervention would probably be best, but that is just a backup idea that can be done at a non-governmental level. Just brush up on your realpolitik and learn who wants what and how to pay off the right people, and the Rebels might just get their guns.
I mean, it worked in the 80's with Afghanistan, didn't it. Hell, we are not even dealing with genociders that have any type of air superiority for crying out loud.
