Journey to the End of the Night is a free street game of epic proportion. It is a race/chase through city streets at night. Players try to make it through a series of checkpoints, covering upwards of 7 miles, while avoiding being caught by chasers. Those who fall will become chasers themselves, rising to pursue their former friends and allies. No skates, no bikes, no cars, just your feet and the good old public transportation.
The Chicago 2008 game was presented by the Chicago chapter of SFØ.org, drawing about 125 players. It was the 6th time the game model had been run, and the first time it had been run in Chicago. (As of 2011, the game has been presented by local organizers over 30 times / 15 different cities / 5 different countries, with the largest games drawing over 1300 players.) There has been a game held in Chicago every year consistently since 2008, with new organizers each year.
As of 2009, I am no longer living in Chicago, and am not connected to the current Chicago organizing crews! New games around the world are generally posted to http://totheendofthenight.com, while local Chicago games are generally discussed in the CGØ facebook group:

As always, my deepest thanks to the 25 volunteer staff who made this game go off without a hitch, though none of us knew what we were doing at that time. My special kudos to the 4 videographers who documented the run - footage of JTTEOTN chases are notoriously difficult to capture, and this continues to be the most in-game footage that any crew has ever collected in any JTTEOTN since.
wow! this looked like a real blast... makes me want to live in your town... :) thanks for posting this video.
