The Procession for the Future, the newest project of the Backbone Campaign ( http://BackboneCampaign.org ) debuted in Portland Oregon on March 4, 2008. It appeared outside both the Democrat and Republican Party Conventions at the end of summer 2008. For the next couple years it will continue touring the country, visiting campuses and communities to raise citizen expectations of their government and help redefine the progressive movement from an "opposition movement to a Proposition Movement." The Procession is a progressive platform for change in the form of a parade. The icons represent progressive aspirations across the policy spectrum.
