Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif star in this multi-Oscar winning production based on the exploits of legendary British soldier T.E. Lawrence. Lawrence helps unite rival Arab tribes and then organizes them into a rebellion against the Turks during World War One. Definitely one of the greatest epic movies of all time. Alec Guiness, Jack Hawkins, Anthony Quinn, Jose Ferrer and Claude Rains also costar.

Hard to believe that at one point the role of Lawrence was offered to Marlon Brando, but he refused it stating that he "didn't want to spend 2 years in the desert." happy he did becase I cannot imagine anyone in the role other then Peter O'Toole in it. He's just brillant.
Isn't it ridiculous that he's been nominated for Best Actor eight times and still* hasn't won it? I can't speak for the films I haven't seen, but he should have won for his portrayal of T. E. Lawrence for sure in my opinion.
Don't you mean he led an Arab rebellion against the OTTOMANS, SupportingActor? Saying "the turks" makes it a) sound like they're destroying their own country or b) are fighting IN DEFENSE OF the Arab monarchy. All the people in that nation were Turkish. Doy.
That's the basic description of the movie off the back of video box. I didn't write the description, I just used the description that was already written.

and of course fantastic Gregory Peck
Is not that hard for me to understand why he still never won
Unlike today.
