  • G'day mate hows it going. I have a 5150 aswell and am currently trying to make it better. I was wondering if i could put any graphics card in it. I am thinks of putting in a geforce 8800 i was wondering if it will work on my computer. i have a pentium d with 1.5 gb of ram. Also i was wondering if i could put in a core 2 duo chip instead of the pentium 2 thank mate.

  • @boomsledge the 2 core will not work, the 5150 takes a PC express video card and with the 3.8ghz you will need at least 4 gigs of ram to use it, I hope this helps.

  • u mean it can't handle 1080P with the onboard video card right? LOL I upgraded mine to an ati radeon 5450 runs 1080P Flawlessly

  • @antfarm69 That's sounds real nice to hear! I just upgraded our latest XPS 430 from it's original ati 3650hd 256 gig video card to a ati 3650hd 1 gig and what a giant improvement for a low level card! I want to get a 5450 right now but can't afford one, that's almost like having a computer in a computer right! I still have a problem with the new 430, it stall's out when editing 1080p sometimes because I'm still running it's Q8300 2.5GHz CPU with only 6 gigs of case memory in that one, so thanks

  • I liked your video but PLEASE DONT TOUCH THERMAL GREASE WITH YOUR SKIN.

Thermal Grease is usually highly toxic. In fact until the 1990ths it was always made from arsen and heavy metals. Today some thermal solutions are less poisionous but still keep it away from yourself.

Also you do not need to distribute the solution yourself. Ideally you put a small amount of ball of grease the size of a small pea in the middle and then distribute it by squeezing it across the surface by putting the sink on

  • Where do you get the CPU from. And what's the modal of mother board it fits in? Thanks

  • is it possible to change the heatsink ?

  • i have a dell dimension 4500 with a stock 1.8 gig processor can i do this to mine?

  • can you help me pls...? when i convert my pentium 3 to pentium 4 is the ram can use DDR2 or just the same SD ram

  • Throw that junk away, that's for babys!

I still own a Dell Optiplex 170l which is very low spec. after a few years I upgrade that old PC with NVIDIA GeForce 6800XT,2GB DDR 440Mhz ,80GB HDD extra(IDE) and a Pentium 4 HT.

I did have to change the motherboard because the current Dell Mobo doesn't have AGP slot which it sucks. All this did during 2007. Old but still great.

  • Wow this is bullshit.. We have the same computer. I bought the processor then I installed it, I turned on my computer it said "incompatible processor".. Now my computer is slower than it was before..

  • can anyone help me in this :

    - is there anyway to change the laptop speed from 1 ghz to 3+ ghz

  • U say u install 4gb ram but show as 3.25gb is because your operating system is running 32-bit
