"His story". Mullet a Coconut retriever was found on the Island of St-Maarten. He was hungry, thirsty and had a 12 foot metal chain around his neck that was too tigh and was cutting his neck. He was dumped in a field and was taking refuge in an old abdonned house not far from Mullet beach. Mullet was very sick with every kind of worm that a dog could have including heartworm. Today his happy as a doggy could be at home with us here in Canada!

2006 I spend one year on the island and also got a coconut retriever puppy, found at the Mullet Bay golf course.
She is a wonderful dog and I am totally glad to have her.
Please get in contact with me (through youtube), if you are also having a St. Maarten dog. I would be so glad to share photos and her story.

your video was sent to me by the person who helped me adopt my 2 coconut retrievers. She is part of an organization called SNOB Spay Neuter Orient Beach. My little guy could be Mullet's dwarf cousin. Looks just like Mullet with Basset Hound legs. Loved the video and the fact that you rescued another island.

I have a coconut retriever named Ella that I also got from St. Maarten... she was a stray and starving, about 3 months old. She was so thin - for a while, when she went to the bathroom, there were pebbles in her poo because that's all she had been eating. Now she's here with me in Atlanta & doing fine. I have to say, coconut retrievers are very fun dogs, and Mullet looks like he could be Ella's brother. I just wish Ella was as calm as he is when I give her a bath....... Love the video, though.
