@paulwes1983 I noticed this in other Shrike videos as well. I think it's because the parts heat up and expand making everything alittle looser. Maybe thermal expansion causes the gas port to slightly increase in size. At any rate, I'm pretty darn sure it is heat as it relates to thermanl expansio of some parts.

Hey you kids that is sick!!

That definitely does answer my question. Thanks for clearing that up. I'm assuming that's the reason why often times people will rest the unused portion of the belt on their forearm too...but I've only ever seen that in movies.
Thanks man!

Very nice. Have you been out to "the Pit" since they gave it a face lift? It's awesome now. I'm from the Flint area BTW. You local?

How come when he first uses the belt it fires at a slower pace in the beginning and then faster at the end? I'm assuming he was holding the trigger down the whole time for the full auto.
Can anybody explain?

The belt is lighter in weight near the end of the belt. Less energy is needed to lift the belt therefor cycling a little faster. Does that answer your question? For example when using a magazine the gun will cycle faster than if using a belt.

@paulwes1983 Just one of the many disign flaws of that POS. The return spring is so strong that the weight of the belt effects cycling. BTW did you notice the jamb near the end of the video...that is quite regular too. About every 150 rounds or so! I paid $9,500.00 like a GD idiot...completly dissapointed.
Ares Defense never made a serious effort to mass produce the shrike. Geoffery Herring knows if 100,000 of these got into the hands of the public he would be the target of a class action.

Again this was documenting right after the break in period. It runs 100% now as long as you have good links. What buffer are you using? H2 works great. I paid $2500 for mine.
