Pro-style "rack focus" movie effect - A hallmark of today's movies is the "rack focus" effect, when the cinematographer changes focus between background and foreground subjects. This usually involves careful planning, a tape measure and dedicated a crew member for "pulling" focus. With the SLT-A55V, you can perform this pro-style effect simply by changing the selected AF Area within the frame. Sony SLT-A55V with Sigma 18-250mm Zoom Lens.

  • You set focus distances before?

  • @Deloix No, I don't. It was done automatically, just by changing the focus area locally

  • how did you get the film look?????

  • very jerky.. looks like you had the stabilizer on the lens active, or your tripot is not smooth.

So get a good tripot or a Glidecam 1000 HD. and turn the gyro off on your lens

  • Does this camera come with a built in lens? You're just zooming in and out right? And the camera is autofocusing on the background and foreground.
