Montgomery College Today, Summer 2007 (Part 3)

"Montgomery College Today" is a news magazine show about Montgomery College, a public, multicampus community college in Montgomery County, Maryland. Montgomery College serves nearly 60,000 students a year, through both credit and noncredit programs, in more than 100 areas of study. The show features stories about Montgomery College's own unique people, places and programs. In this segment, we spotlight students finishing the College's Graduate Transition Program, who celebrated their accomplishments with a special graduation ceremony. GTP is a two-year, non-credit certificate program designed to help developmentally disabled adults learn life skills and become independent. One of the students, who has cerebral palsy, spent two years in physical therapy so that she could cross the stage to receive her certificate.
