A demonstration of Fatal Strike cancels, Burst Arte cancels, and cancel dashing, along with some of the things you can do with them and how they can be used in combos. Also an excercise in self indulgence. :3

All right, let's cut to the chase. No menu use is needed at all. In order to execute these techniques you will need:

• 1x Repede in the party
• Repede's "Bark" skill (found on Repede's Takemikazuchi: Flare and Takemikazuchi: Flare +1 Beta which are obtained through synthesis)
• A second controller
• I'd suggest to use the manual control scheme (as opposed to semi-auto) for the person in the first player slot

Repede's Bark skill has about a 1 in 3 chance (when I tested it, it worked 17 times out of 50) of cancelling all actions on the field when Repede taunts. I'm guessing most of you have figured it out after reading that sentence. That's right, you'll need to put Repede in the second player slot, set him to manual or semi auto, turn on your second controller, initate the action that you want to cancel with the person in the first player slot (for example, Ghost Wolf or a green FS), and then quickly press the right stick on the second controller with the correct timing to force the cancelling of the action.

Yeah, it's not practical at all. Only really useful for creating combo videos and things like that. It's hard enough to hit the right stick on the second controller when you already have a controller in your hands, but even if you hit the right stick with the correct timing, you still only have about a 1 in 3 chance of actions being cancelled. Not to mention that you need to have pretty good timing to cancel something like Ghost Wolf or an FS in mid combo, because they happen so fast. That being said, I hope I didn't dissuade anyone from trying these things. I think everyone should try it at least once, if you can, because these cancels are so fun and satisfying to pull off.

There is a method to FS cancel with one controller, but it involves so much menu use that you'll probably break out of combo. Even if you keep the enemy combo locked, it'll be hard to edit out the menu use without the video looking a bit choppy. If any one requests it, I can put up a video showing how.

All right, I think that's all I have to say. If anyone has questions leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer. Good luck with your cancelling!

Music Used:

The first song is from Xenosaga 2. It's titled "Chase" and composed by Yuki Kajiura.

The second song is from Star Ocean 4. It's titled "Stab the Sword of Justice (Heroic Remix)" and composed by Motoi Sakuraba (who else?).

unlike alteret arts ^_^ anyway thanks for answering

  • Too good Pikohan. Just simply amazing.

  • @Pikohan Revenge My favorite thing about this gam is the improvment of artes after using moves a certain amount of times. I also like how the burst arter can be lnked to other moves if you can create your own combos. Now that's power. Aside from usig my OVL I usually like to use my own origional combos withut using burst artes sometimes. He have you completed all of the secret missions. I though this was a pretty hard sidequest myself.

  • @Pikohan Revenge Did you complete lll of your sidequests as well. I almost did mine I jut need fo finish cooking and getting all of the titles as well as the EX Dungeon as mentioned. I haven't finished Duke just yet on my second playthrough. Hmm I have carried over most of my stuff from my first playthrough but I was thinking to make things a little harder on my third playthrough Iwas only going to carry over three things that are important. I usually don't mind earning all of the skills& artes.

  • @Pikohan Revenge Thanks for these uploads I have though about it and there is still quite a bit to do in our version even though Namco has remadis game on PS3 with more. But our version is okay I guess. Thanks to you I now have even more work to do on this game I might as well start working on some advanced techquines of my own.
