@ChadMaestro Will it work on my Gigabyte P45 motherboard? And if I want to check if my RAM speed has been affected, how do I do it? Some say that one should make sure that the RAM speed should not exceed its stock speed while overclcoking the CPU only.....

According to your logic, the stock Intel heatsinks must also be amazing because they're made by a well-known company.
Seriously, just do some research on the Prolimatech Megahalems, Thermalright Venemous-X, Thermalright IFX-14, or Noctua D14. The best air coolers out on the market. They're much cheaper than the V8 but cool much better.

good video mate, just to add, you should always test the stability of your overclock by running prime95 or intel burn test.

I haven't got the CPU anymore, but for those that want 4.0GHz it's really simple. Keep on upping the FSB to about 422 for the clock speed, then up the FSB voltage to + 0.10 and the MCH voltage to 0.05 -- and lastly the CPU voltage, I had at 1.35v which is safe for 24/7 usage, but wouldn't go past 1.4v unless you're running a phase change unit or something of the like. Remember for 4.0GHz good cooling is required, something like a Noctua 120 or TRUE would suffice.

what are you idle temps. I just ocd and its idleing at 43 centigrade... Is that ok because Im using a stock fan cooler =(
Turk013 3 years ago
That's quite good for the stock cooler, make sure you keep it under 60°c when stressing it with a program.

What values do i need for 3.8/4.0ghz do i need to change my MCH and/or FSB voltages, i have a e8400 which is pretty much the same.
meSsi2y 3 years ago
Might need to bump up the FSB by .10 and the MCH by .05v. CPU should be sweet at 1.325v AFAIK.
