Nokia N900 magnet "problem"

how does a magnet affects the Nokia N900 lcd screen!Be careful with the protective cases.Some of them have a magnet to keep the cover closed!

n900 has a proximity sensor .............weneva u place anytng on it , the light woud go off

@7venthpoizon a)in the video when i aproach the magnet the light switches on and not off as you say.

b)the proximity sensor works only when you are in a call and on some aplications and not always.

The phone has a magnetic switch that is affected by a big magnet aproaching

The slider mechanism uses a magnet to determine when the keyboard has been opened, placing a magnet infront of it just mimics this and turns the screen on.
