  • So, I'm watching some of these old 3dmark videos and wondering to myself, "so this doesn't look mind-blowing or anything, but 12 years later, why don't our graphics look a lot better than they do...I mean, certainly our hardware has advanced exponentially since then, that much is obvious. But I don't really see it in any games, other than a few"...Then I remembered, "Oh yea...console ports" >.<

  • I learned about this after looking up WikiPedia, and after looking at the specifications I thought that the benchmark would have stick figures because it uses DX6, but I'm surprised at how good the graphics are for 1998/9

  • @windows7linux I'd say that you're a faggot.

  • wthat game 2:00 ?

  • If you were to show someone form 1999 gameplay footage of games like crysis or killzone 2, there head would explode!

  • This reminds me my old Voodoo3 ! xDD

  • lol i used it on a

    intel celuron overclo0cked to 1.6GHz

    384mb ram

    evga 5200 128mb video card

    windows xp

    and i got 20fps lol :(

  • well mine is not the HT one its the not HT 2GHz one with single channel 266Mhz ddr lol (512MB total). my dad's laptop has the HT one. i currently have an i7 which blows that p4 away

  • P4? Old? Hardly.

I've realized that this video is just the demo (not the actual benchmark), which my old Dell runs just fine without issues. Last I checked, the race scene FPS was anywhere between 20-50 FPS, but the average was between 25-30 IIRC. Not as good as this vid, but not bad for a machine from late 1998-early 1999.

  • wow and i thought that my p4 stuff was old lol
