I make a pinhole camera, and show off some of the results.

beware! this causes a lot of dust to build up on your sensor, and this costs $60, unless you do it yourself, which voids the warranty, so be effing careful!

  • do you recon it work placing a piece of thin glass in front of the hole to prevent a dusty sensor?

  • I imagine that would work quite nicely for blocking dust.

  • pretty brave to try this out for the first time, cool! if you are only going to use a pin hole why would you need to hollow out such a big hole in yr body cap?

    interseting though

    thanks!

  • i carved a large hole because my next experiment was a DIY tilt shift lens. it didn't work out too well, so there is no video.

  • Yeah I'm shopping around for something better than my 18-55mm

  • Photography makes it so easy to spend lots of money on things you don't really need.

its a good thing lenses hold onto their value for a very long time, unlike DSLR bodies which drop off the day a newer model is released.

a good telephoto would complement a 18-55 quite nicely.
