Hikaru no Go - Reborn [AU]

This video is AU and contains hints of shounen-ai, which means love between two men. It means gay. If that offends you, don't watch and don't flame.

Storyline: Sai of the Fujiwara was quite happy to be a professional Go player in Edo period. He taught the Emperor and also a man called Torajirou, who later became Honinbou Shusaku. However, Torajirou died early and Sai, desperate from loss of his love, comitted suicide.

Many years later, a boy called Touya Akira is having dreams about a mysterious Go player every night and he is drawn to that unknown person. Touya posesses Torajirou's reborn soul and he begins to remember his previous life when one day, he stumbles upon a boy called Hikaru, who resembles the mysterious man from Touya's dreams.

However, Hikaru, who is noone else than Sai's reborn self, does not know anything about his own past and he is more than confused from the strange feelings that he suddenly has for Touya...




Let me know how you liked it... I know this AMV is not flawless, and maybe I'll redo it in the future but I'm too tired to do that now so it may as well stay as it is...

Could you please specify? I mean, were there some specific things that made you not like the vid, or was it just an overall feeling? :) I can see some things I would do differently now as it is an old vid, but I'd still like to know what I can improve next time :)

Well... the music is grating and very annoying, the pace is very slow and doesn't really change much, and the typography is very pixellated and cheap-looking. But I think the main problem is just... 'why?' - It doesn't say anything new, it doesn't add to any of the characters, and it's very direct and blunt, whereas the original cartoon is subtle and suggestive, and just... better.

Let me emphasize again I ain't flaming. But.. you asked :-)

I made the vid a long time ago, and as I said before, I would do some things differently ") thank you for taking your time and pointing out my mistakes to me... however, on the question WHY: I made the vid purely for fun, and to satisfy my slash/shonenai urges :D I never tried, in any way, to make something better than the purely genius original work, which I agree is great :)

in hikaru no go, shindo wasnt just pleading to akira for him to just wait for him, shindo's goal was to pass him, shindo's determination was just just overwhelming? :O
