  • I dread to think what would have happened had they got Duncan....if he had one bad game Mr Impatient (pitino) would have traded him for Vlade Divac.

Celtics won 16 NBA titles in 30 years, Pitino had Chauncey f'n Billups with the 3rd pick to go with Antoine Walker and possibly Paul Pierce a year later, Pitino couldn't fucking coach in the pro's, pure and simple.

His replacement Jim O'Brien took the same damn team and led them to the Eastern Finals. Remember THAT you southern redneck fuckhead

  • His coaching style is better suited for a college schedule. You can't play 82 games in the NBA w/the kind of intensity he demands daily. Only Pat Riley got away w/coaching like that in the 80's but the players now r of a different breed.

He is a GREAT college coach though!

  • Yea Rick Pitino was probably the worst thing to ever happen to the Celtics.

  • worst human being to walk the face of the earth; go F### yourself fraud, just like you cheat on your wife and kids, evil loser. Actually McHale did walk through the door, then he made a trade, we got Garnett and won a record 17th title. And set the record, Boston, a title in each sport in five years, and we didn't have to buy off college kids to do it, just a few pros, just pros :<)

  • this never gets old

  • @mightyhealthy08 Im a celtics fan and a UK fan. I agree with you not all his choices were best. I believe some of the impatience and irrational decisions came from his agreement when making the move of give 3 years to get in the playoffs, but only pitino knows his logic behind the moves.

  • @DimebagSlayer1 i believe in college, that's true. In the pros, he just did not have patience with young players, dealing Chauncey Billups and Joe Johnson away for players for guys like Kenny Anderson, Tony Delk, Rodney Rogers, all old, past their prime players....sorry, I'm a Celtic fan and to me Rick Pitino set the franchise back quite a few years, that foundation your talking about, all credit goes to Danny Ainge, had Pitino stayed any longer, Pierce would have demanded a trade

  • @RedSoxFan1468927 yeah like trading away chancey billups for kenny anderson, which was one of the dumbest moves in celtics history

  • @mightyhealthy08 I mean I understand the circumstances the only point I was making was Pitino i not do all bad in his time with the celtics. I feel he is a great coach who is very demaning of his players and had laid the foundation for Boston to return as a feared team.

  • @DimebagSlayer1 Pierce was projected a top 3 pick before the draft, him falling to #10 made it almost a no-brainer for the Celtics to draft him, Pitino wanted Nowitzki that year but the Bucks got him at #9

  • epic

  • Most people are focusing on the bad he did while coaching the team. Dont forget Pitino brought in the modern day franchise celtic player. Paul Pierce
