This video looks at the replacement to the Linux initd in openSUSE 12.1, the systemd. This also simplifies the init scripts. We no longer need bash scripts with hundreds of lines. The system daemon read the configuration file for the service, just a few lines and that is all that is needed. The video introduces systemd and the controm file systemctl
