awesome job dude ;). i saw your building blog and i saw everything listed up just fine. But i have one question: Do you HAVE to take a nissan v6 or can you take one builded by another brand?
-
@carsnwomen91 I meant engine, wasn't concerned about the intake manifold. LOL
-
@mrZdude dek's lower intake mani is aluminum, the actual manifold is plastic
-
Damn. A turbo would've had great fitment in that engine bay.
-
@mycmafioso DEK didn't have any cast iron parts...they're all aluminum from intake manifold to oil pan, with cast aluminum pistons, forged steel rods, and forged steel crankshaft.
-
Rotary engine is junk and this is a great thing to do with an Rx7
-

-
looks like a 3.8 v6 they put in camaros, firebirds and trans ams.
-

Yes v8s have more low end. But a good P Ported rotary with a few bolt ons Do go a long way. And also i had a few rx7s, And one flooded, Only because the compression was low. All i got was a switch for the fuel pump and switched it off till it started running, then turned the fuel pump switch on agian.

You installed a switch to combat the flooding. I installed a different engine. Toe each his own :-)

Soon they will convert these cars to front wheel drive.. lol. Why not put the rotary back in.. I can rebuild a rotary in a few hours and replace them when they go bad

I already had a rotary powered Rx-7 Drove it for 10 years. This car was for fun. When I bought it didn't have a motor. Also with this set up it had a lot more HP, got better gas milage and never flooded :-)

mutlucivlan: the VG and VQ are very different. My experience with the VQ isn't likely to be of much help.
