This is my Lenz2 turbine in a higher wind.
I now have the steel frame welded up and it's sitting on the wooden frame. The wind in this video was furnished by the leftovers of hurricane Ike as it made it's way into the midwest as a simple thunderstorm. Go to windstuffnow.com to get the details on how to build one.
Feb/09, I have the stator wound and poured, Magnets on the rotors and rotors poured. Next Step is putting it all together and seeing what happenes.

  • How did you make sure all the wings were the same distance from the center? Is it forgiving when it comes to slight variation or does each wing have to be mounted exactly the same way?

  • I got them as close as i could by just drilling all the holes on each part the same. It seems to be pretty well balanced although time will tell. If it's out of balance very much the bearings will wear out quickly. Thanks for looking.

  • Hello mdctlew!

Could I know the dimensions of your turbine ?

What about thi swind speed ?

  • Hello. The turbine measures 122cm tall and spins in a 92 cm circle. I think the wind was blowing about 48 kph that day. Thanks.
