  • I would give all my possesions and work like a dog for the rest of my days to secure any of these pure women as a wife in the circled dance scene. When women were real women and not the aggressive, rude, condescending and disgusting article that we see so frequently today.

  • I love this version of the May Dance better than in the other films/t.v versions.

  • @bengusandlex That is incredibly misogynistic.

  • @bengusandlex

    Rejected much?

  • @bengusandlex

that is because women did not have much rights back then :) now they do but i understand that still doesn't give them the excuse to be disrespectful :( neither for men :(

  • I loved the part from the '98 version when Angel was perusing all the girls when choosing a partner. I'm sad they cut that out.... :-( Plus, he DID sort of dance with Tess here, but he's not supposed to at all. Boo! Stick with the '98 version!

  • the one with Justine Waddell had a better dance scene.

  • @loesje91 yeah they fucked this one up, at least they remembered there was a dance in it...

  • @loesje91 Well..ALMOST. They forgot the red ribbon in Tess' hair ;) lol

  • @bex9101 No, no. What is meant is an old fashioned girl is much, much more favourable and lovelier than many of the loutettes you see around you today. And i dont mean the property of men, but a better and cleaner life of love and romance, sharing everything with each other and not been corrupted by the bad greedy choices of today. Tess of the Durbervilles is not a good example though.

(And there's still no equality as such in this day, there's still wrongdoings to women in places.)

  • What is this tune??
