Just a thought!....why cant we boost earths radioactive waste far into space? Afterall that's where it came from in the first place. I imagine that in time this will become an effective (both cost and practical, not to mention profitable) way of dealing with our increasing need for nuclear energy. If someone manages to do this then I claim a right, here and now, to the idea. ha ha!

@jamiehasnomercy Agreed. Intelligent life does seem very rare since we are the first example of it throughout the history of life on Earth. Intelligence and self awareness has manifested in various animal species but we are the first civilization and while that does not say anything for certain it does insinuate the rarity of it.
Either way, our only next step is up! We've got to go and find out for ourselves, it's the only way! We can...we WILL do this!

@DamienZshadow i dont doubt that life exisits in some form or other but i dont think we can take the risk to assume that there is more intelligent life out there! we could in theroie be the seeds for the universe! or could be the only chance for the universe to bear intelligent life.

@jamiehasnomercy Right, because then it becomes that much more precious. Still, I can't imagine the possibility that life could not have arisen when our ingredients (CHNOPS) are also the most abundant and elements in the universe. Out of the billions and billions of other settings exactly like our own, it seems inconceivable for life not to have taken hold elsewhere when it only took us 4 billion years. It's got to be there!
