@styrianinchina the words ich, heimlich, and dich. And a little wierd on the word "grabe"
-
@legionx2012 would they?? lol
-
@langleywil I understand that, as I have taken German diction, and lived in Germany, but the words ich, heimlich, and dich, are not supposed to have an "ish" sound....
-
@tashnny Where do you think that the pronunciation is wrong?
-
It sounds like heaven!!
Two wunderful performers, dedicated to perfection, supporting each other to heavenly beauty!!
-
@tashnny funny that, seeing as she's known worldwide for her impeccable diction. oh well, good for her i guess that she was good enough to be a regular at both the Vienna and the Berlin Philharmonic, not to mention good enough for every great director from Solti to Karajan, both of whom I'm sure would have had something to say about her German had it been wrong.
-
@tashnny Seriously? It's Jessye Norman. She speaks German fluently and has for 40 years or so...lol She even goes so far as to speak German without realizing she is. Not only that, but in operatic styles, the pronunciation is often over exaggerated as to be understood.

this song strikes a nerve literally every time i hear it.
-
some of the pronunciation is wrong....beautiful though
-
Damn this is good.

Did anyone notice the capacity of her breath? She can sing the entire long phrase without disruptive inhalation. wow
