Hello all!

I finally got my new biogas generator uploaded. it seems quit nice, but right now it isnt producing a whole lot. It must be the fresh grass. If I filled it with manure and dirt, it would be bubling like crazy. Ok,I hope you enjoy it, please comment, and tell me anything that could improve my setup.

Thanks for watching.

  • Give that thing up dude and try something reasonable like biomass gassification. Gassifiers are farely easy to build and operate on the same thing biomass. Look it up on youtube and you will be surprised at how simple they can be.

  • I gave it up over a year ago :P

  • Got this jar, real big jar but its not generating no gas?? you probs need a container holding of atleast 2000 ltrs area of cow sh*t to get more than 3 bubbles a minute!! good try though...

  • yea this glass jar failed. :D

Grass and clear glass is no good.

  • hey basement ben, you're right, the biogas wont be produced with fresh grass. no wy, you need a blend of several different substrates if you want it to work, namely proteins, fats and carbohydrates. the other reason you didnt get it to work was the fact that by testing the pressure by pumping air into it, you have destroyed all the methane producing bacteria wich live only in an oxygen free environment,,, otherwise looks like a fun project...

  • Sounds good, those ingredients are 2000 times better than grass, lol thanks. :)

    Ben.

  • Hi there dude I'm a bioenergy-technician from Sweden and I've been thinking about this a lot myself. I think you should try to add some poop or old meat...something with more energy in it. Try to add some rotten food, it should help to increase the gas production.Try to stirr it a whole lot more aswell. It can take up to 30 days until the microbes have "settled" the way you want.
