Does this idiot thing we're going to be able to compete w/the likes of China and India that are producing engineers and doctors at 10 times our rate by cutting school budgets? What a moron. @JSAautomotive and who's going to pay for public employees' pensions? you think pension checks just magically write themselves out? private workers toil longer because public workers, which are paid by private taxes, retire earlier. it's not rocket science. sure private workers don't have to keep working till 65. they don't have to breathe either. too bad they want to live because the price of living is the cost of their lives plus the cost of the lives of public leeches.

@JSAautomotive . no shit, genius. the only problem is: for people in the private industry to have a good 401K comparable to the public sector's defined benefit pensions, their 401K not only has to always outperform the market, it must always outperform by a guaranteed percentage the way public pensions do even in a bear market. and don't confuse ss with pensions which begins paying out after 25-28 years of service. if i wanted to be a thief, yes i'd be a "civil servant".
