I've bred Oreophoetes peruana in the past and I've just got some Oreophoetes topoense, which apparently are a sub-species... I was only given females, though, so does anyone know if the females of the species in this group are have parthenogenetic capabilities? Thanks.
@grahamoutflying Oreophoetes peruana and closely related Peruvian Fern species secrete a mild irritant called Quinoline. It's not deadly, obviously, but it does effect animals and humans, too. They spray the white substance when they're agitated or frightened, so you just need to be extra gentle with these beautiful sticks.
hi i recently bought a yellow one of these and my hand is itching like mad i rubbed my eyes and got the same effect there too please can you tell me what is happening lol thanks
