Chris Rainey 100m dash State

Chris Rainey in lane 5 wearing #2 runs the 100 meter sprint for the state championship he comes in 2nd with a 10.73, losing to Harold Howell with a winning time of 10.72. This is a very slow track, 0.2 seconds or more. The next season Jeff Demps ran a 10.37 on it later that summer Demps ran a 10.01. Rainey also placed 4th in the 200m with a 22.7 and was 2nd in the long jump with a 23'9". Was told by a reported he participated in the 4X100 also by an official from Lakeland but have seen no report on that.

@drunksmokingjurkk The runners in this video were seniors in high school about to graduate. It was at the state championships held at Winter Park Florida. Rainey who is going to be a slot receiver at Florida this year, that was Percy Harvin's spot, was second in the race by something like 2-100ths of second. Something like a 10.7 Winter Park is a slow soft track that favors long distance runners.

Rainey has never run a 10.25, his football coach said something about a fast speed but I don't remember what it was. I know what the times are, Rainey is not a 10.25 guy, Demps is, he's actually faster although I don't know how he did in track this season in the 100m, do know he was burning up the 60m he ran the fastest time in the country at the college level this year in a prelim.

One criticism of the high school state championships in Florida is they have all the events for each classification in one day, prelims and finals! Rainey was in several events like Jeff Demps ran something like a 10.37 he senior year to win the 100m, they often don't get their best times or near it because they dont have enough gas in the tank. Sort of sad many wanted two days but in tough economic times that just isn't going to happen, not now, not anytime soon.

@drunksmokingjurkk haha i believe you dude. same here. youre just naturally fast like me. freshman yr was my 1st time running track and i ran 11.29 fat i turn 15 in january, im guna start doing aau and take track more seriously. no telling what we can do if we train hard
