hey, i'm the one that films them live.. yes, we started using iMovie :P. for stuff like this it's a lot more aesthetically pleasing then anything you can make in Vegas Pro, After effects, or Final Cut. plus it's a lot faster to work with. lol. anyways, I use a Sony HDR-XR500V. ir's a really good camera, but beware of the terrible auto focus in low light settings. keep checking out our videos. anything after august is filmed with the sony HDR-XR500V
