The "baby boy" is appropriate to the song from the dominant female point of view. The singer knows what she wants and is waiting for the man to decide. Making fun of his indecisiveness, she goads him by teasing him.
The Doris Day original recording takes more of a sultry, pleading tone, but this cover is a good interpretation done with a strong voice (necessary due to the vocal range requirement of the piece).
