@strabbs1 hey, if it looks so easy , put a punchbag on the floor, put your handraps on, and a pair of 12 or 14oz gloves on , and see how exhausting punching hard is, especially after the takedowns and grapling,ive did a bit of mma workout's and i tell you, its not as easy as it looks, remembering these guys have to save a bit of energy for the 5 minute rounds to come,personally i think alex reid is a good fighter who could do much better.

And Ali is a bad example to use, he has Parkinsons which many people develop who are not boxers. Better examples would be Watson or McClennan. Different people have different tolerance levels to head shock trauma, and lots of padded or weak shot are worse than a ko, which is the brains defence mechanism to avoid further punishment.

And the UFC is an organisation in MMA, like the WBA is in boxing, so no need to say "punching in mma, ufc etc. You would not say "punching in boxing, WBA etc."
