Hi! This is a video of me performing with Ableton Live using my brand new Allen & Heath Xone:4D mixer. I'm just experimenting with a number of Ableton's effects whilst playing some wicked techno and electronica and seeing what the Xone:4D is capable of. It's not a demo as such but if you have any questions just post a comment and I'll check back from time to time and help if I can.

If you enjoy this video please also check out my website which has some of my own tracks, DJ mixes and exclusive still images of the Xone:4D at http://www.dougie-jones.com

Cheers

Dougie

  • Hey Dougie. Were you previously a DJ before using the 4D, just I'm a beginner but really want a 4d. In your eyes is it an easy device to learn, and if not how steep is the learning curve?

  • @Adz1184 Hey, yeah I was. Mixing digitally is quite different to manually but the 4D itself is really straightforward to set up and use. The main thing that you need to learn is the software itself e.g Ableton.

    Hope this helps!

  • @DougieJonesDJ Cheers for the heads up! I've just received Ableton so starting to learn it before I get the 4d. Do you find it easier or harder DJ'ing without the platters for track search, are you able to map in to make it do that? Just I feel the wheels at the bottom are going to waste otherwise?

  • @Adz1184 No worries! And I very rarely use the platters to be honest. They're designed more for use with Traktor than Ableton I think.

  • I think me dreaming is about as close to it as I will get

  • @undrtow2188 Maybe one day...

  • Le sigh

  • @undrtow2188 Haha! Yeah that's true! There's no shop that I can think of that has it on display.

  • It looks like so much fun. All those amazing effects at your fingertips. Gahhhhh why can't guitar center have a demo of it
