This is part two of six so far. It will probably go to twice that. I hope you can stay with me. It depends on your interest, and your tolerance for florid 19th century style of language.

This is my first taste of Ingersoll. Thanks, Largo64, I appreciate it. It helps me heal from the mental gang-rape my psyche took from religion all those many years. It's funny; you never really know just how silly it [all religion] is until you're looking at it from afar. Peace.

This was one of my favorite works from Ingersoll. I plan on making a playlist of your reading. You put much effort into it and I enjoy hearing it for a change!
I remember reading this entire work non-stop to David, while sitting on the porch eight years ago. Sad that it took so long for me to discover this man. Great that so many still can and will. He is so inspirational to me that I can't put it in words and those words are timeless and full of wisdom.

Atheists have to keep using these arguments For the reasons "alphacause" states and also the fact remains that theists constantly ignore the real evidence presented to them and instead hold to imaginary events, imaginary people, imaginary entities, imaginary history all of which they invent imaginary evidence for.
Most theists say an atheist rejects god but we don't, how can you reject something that does not exist, but they reject facts that all can see and understand, facts exist.Show me god??

The reason why you hear the same arguments today, that Robert Ingersoll used over a century ago, is because those arguments have not been sufficiently addressed. Those arguments are still as cogent today as they ever where.

I notice not many Christians come around to listen to the Ingersoll stuff to comment. I wonder why.

If they ever heard of him, it was probably under the soubriquet "the great agnostic.." They probably are afraid to read Ingersoll. Or, if they come from the Bible Belt, thy may not know he ever existed. Even in California, San Bernardino County, when I lived there I tried to find the works of Robert G. Ingersoll in the library, and to my dismay, found no mention in the catalog of any book either by or about Ingersoll. They censor by selection, which, sadly, they have the right to do.
