@darius595 - The nice thing about youtube is that we can pause and study the screen. The script may not respect the audience's intelligence, but darned if that doesn't look like a valid checkmate. Looks like he's got his bishop out there protecting the queen at 0:27.

@darius595 Most people know how to play chess. Or perhaps rather, perhaps people that don't know how to play chess won't get any of the jokes so if they have decided to use chess in a joke then the joke will only apply to those who know how to play.
