i use to work as a walmart cashier, and i hated it people say most jobs suck but i was getting paid only $9.16 ($1 extra since night shift), now that doesnt seem so bad to be a acashier and thats what i thought but i ended up doing everyone elses job (CSM, CSS, stock etc). i went to the manager about this and told them how the CSS's sit on their ass and tell me to do thier shit and he said well in the contract it says "be willing to work outside your position as a cashier". DON'T WORK THERE

This may be off topic, but I have worked for wal-mart Canada about 3 years now, and make less then new hires due to there hiring system and the rapid increase of minimum wage.

when they are making millions just to open new stores yes. they also pay immigrants an women less then men! this has been in the news plenty of times. also, i'm talking about over seas workers. they make chicken scratch while fat cats fill their pockets. they also put mom and pop chains out of business.

I don't think it's the best job, just better than my last. I now get health insurance, sick leave, have a 401k, and work less hours and earn more money than I did at SCHLOTZSKY'S deli. And the health insurance is great too, it took my $13,000 hospital bill down to $300.

Agreed, I get paid overtime when I get it, time and a half of 9.55/hr, nice.
