I think I can shed a little more light on the topic.I talked with Snake a bit after the gig at KnockOut festival and he told that Jason, after the accident was supposed to do maybe 2 tracks, and they were thinking about asking Blacky or Eric to do the rest, but after a week Jason called and told them that this is too important and he wants to do the whole album. Another reason why I admire the man.

I read up that they were going to use Eric and blacky to do bass work on the upcoming and final Voivod album, but decided to hold that off another time. For as great as this band sounds, I think they are wrongfully underrated.
