the new gdm, plymouth and gnome in ubuntu are not working with nvidia multiscreen-multihead., We are even planning to dump ubuntu :this is not a stable linux anymore.
@multiseat I'm not sure about nVidia, but ATi surely is supported. You have to patch GDM a bit, but that's all. We (me and some others) are trying to get these patches upstream.
ok , but are you using dual-head cards from ati and are you using both
heads as seperate x-screens?I have tried with the patched gdm and consolekit
some months ago but it just worked a bit with seperate vga cards, so only one seat per card.This way is not good cause i need to make six and eight seat systems for schools.
@multiseat Yes I am :). There was a patch ~two months ago, introducing this functionality for the open-source ATi driver. Btw: we could talk Dutch, right? ;-).
Ik werk alleen met nvidia kaarten.Voor productie werk ik nog meest met ubu 9.10 en gdm-2.20 +XGL en de xevdevserver.
De toekomst ligt in gdm+consolekit.Twee weken wat testen mee gedaan met twee ubuntu packages(misschien wel de uwe),maar nog niet in gelukt om het werkend te krijgen met dual-head nvidia's.Ik wou dus twee seats met 1 vga kaart dualhead.Wat is het beste: de kb-mice settings in xorg.conf of in die consolekit configs zoals .seat of .display?Weinig uitleg daarover.
This still uses the old GDM, so it's not "really" Ubuntu 10.04.
