does the replacement battery work with ios4 firmware?

the batteries are made to be compatible with the device. They will act just as your current battery. The firmware should have no affect on the battery. We've replaced batteries in devices with all types of firmware and have had no issue.

Just changed battery and when I power up all i get is a white screen for about a minute this it goes blank. Any ideas?

try holding the home button and power button down together until the device shuts off. when the apple logo appears, let the buttons go. It will hard reset the device and most likely take care of the white screen.

Eventually i realized that my earpiece stopped working after this repair, so when making phone calls I cannot hear the other party. I can still make phonecalls via speakerphone and headset.

I did some research before taking the phone apart again, and tried reattaching the number 3 (IIRC) cable, but that hasn't helped. I'm OK with losing my earpiece functionality, but if anybody has any suggestions I would be glad to hear them. Thanks.
