Now let me begin by saying that I fully accept that racial motivated crime disproportionately affects white people, but can I run this 10:1 ratio by you again.

For sake of argument let's assume that the ratio of whites to blacks in the UK is 7:1.

If there was no racial bias at all and violent crime was randomly distributed then 7 out of 8 crimes of violence would be committed by whites, and 7 out of 8 of their victims would be white. 1 in 8 crimes would be committed by blacks (continued)

and 7 out of 8 victims would be white. Therefore if it was purely random then the level of inter-racial violence would be 1:1, not 10:1.
