  • if say something were to happen between the person and the family umm can the do into the dorm without paying at all or do they have to pay again and thanks for the advice at first i wasn't sure about homestay family but now im sure ^.^ oh and was the family u were with somehow able to understand english even a little ?

  • @starorb Nope there is no difference in price and you dont have to pay again. And how much english they speak varies, but even if they dont speak english youll have no problem finding a way to communicate and your japanese will improve alot!

  • if it's so easy to be taken out of a homestay, why can't you change your mind from being in a dorm to a homestay?

  • @kmah88 Sorry unfortunately it doesnt go backwards. You can't go from dorm to homestay only homestay to dorm.

  • You sound like you been starving yourself all your time in Japan , but glad you had a good time. Do you think it would be any good for a vegetarian as myself (sorry if it sounds silly just worry about my eating habits to a different new place) to go to Japan? I really want to go to Kansai Gaidai, but unfortunately the university I'm planning to transfer don't have that school in their programs list.

  • Your voice, not even your joyful expressions, is what made me smile unconsciously and feel so happy... This is such a nice change after your sad blog before... I am so glad for you and the fact that you got to eat real food... lol

  • people go on and one about Japanese being racist etc....but I also had great experiences with Japanese families that have welcomed me and been kind and warm and friendly and also going out of their way for me and feeding me and giving me gifys and showing me around. It makes the stress of being in another country so much easier to cope with. I am so pleased you have a nice family like that to be your friends.

  • @Luciditi well that's crappy! in that case, i guess everyone should opt for homestay then and make up their minds when they get there, right?!

hope you're feeling better now ~ you looked really down

  • what are you going to school for?

  • By the way, it sucks to hear you're not eating right. I've been there too (I lost 20kg when I first came here working). Budgeting is hard when you want to buy foods that are not staples here. The more you can get into local food, the cheaper and healthier it gets - udon, onigiri, miso soup - that stuff is power food, is dirt cheap and it will make you live to be 100. Remember, travel is no fun if you're sick so take care of yourself there!

    Peace
