Nebraska vs. Missouri basketball 2009 (last couple seconds)

Nebraska beats Missouri to open Big 12 play. Missouri, who, hands down, would be the toughest team on Creighton's schedule.

Why did Nebraska win this game??? Defense. A defense which is #1 in the Big 12 and one that will keep them competitive in a lot more conference games then the probably should be. Incidently, also a defense that the Creighton faithful have labeled "hackers."

I think he should be fired. Solid long term hires just don't work. He can't recruit at all. Reminds me of Jim Wooldridge.

It's in the works. Our saving grace, in terms of new facilities, may ultimately be attributed to the recent success of our women's team. I agree to an extent about his recruiting. It would make a world of difference if Nebraska could put out some decent high school talent for him to have ties to.

No. For a few reasons. As you've pointed out, countless times, Nebraska's program is not great. However, Doc has at least got people in Nebraska, all-be-it marginally, excited about basketball again. We had not had that for a long time when Barry Collier was here and it's been nice to, this year aside, at least have discussions about the prospect of making the NCAA tournament. Not only this, I cannot see a better coach out there that would even want to come to Neb given our facilities.

I'm not a hypocrite. You should stick to football. I mentioned that a couple times. What you did, though was argue my basketball point by bringing up national championships from other sports.

And Martin being banned from a high school league in Florida has nothing to do with whether years later he's running a dirty program in college.

Oh, well in that case, in taking your advise and sticking to a comparison of the two football teams' programs, where would you like me to begin?? Martin's probation in Florida may have nothing to due with college basketball, but it's makes him more speculative that most other coaches in D1. As to Nebraska rushing the floor if we were to beat Colorado, heck, it might happen; as I've already addressed, we're not that good this year. Do you have anything new to contribute??

Yeah, why couldn't NU have played like that against Texas, and then saved the 40 point loss for K-State? I hate games that make me almost have a heart attack.

Grammar smack is as weak as being nitpicky about "always rush the court," which is why I mentioned it.

Yeah I'm talking about basketball. And to my recollection we haven't rushed the court against a lesser caliber team lately. We just beat #1 Texas and didn't rush the court. At this point NU fans should rush the court against Colorado. A win against anyone would be an accomplishment for you guys.

Hey Corky from "Life Goes On", I've already conceded that K. State has a better basketball team than Nebraska yet you continue to belabor the point. And if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was you who got the football angle rolling with your initial "stick to football" remark effectively making you a hypocrite. Also Doc Sadler isn't banned from coaching in any states. Can Frank Martin say the same??
