From the television show "Your Big Break" second season, filmed in 2000.
This was a singing competion, years before "American Idol" that took people would could sound like a famous recording artists and let them perform as that artist, providing costumes, dancers, everything! I didn't win, but I had a great time doing it.
(Side note - they told me not to throw the food around, but I got a little carried away. It was everywhere!)
Look close for the Coors Light twins dancing in the video!

  • I am not sure what you mean by "years before American Idol" because A.I. debuted just 2 years after season 2 of Your Big Break.

  • @Rawk4Life Your Big Break came first, at least here in the States. That's all I'm saying. I think you are saying the same thing as me.

  • You should have won.

    :D

  • @minyaelen Thanks! I had fun.

  • he probably would of fooled some people before LASIK walking down the street like that

  • @usernameclassifeid I still get comments that I look like Al. Mostly from very near-sighted people. Ha!

  • Oh so he is a Genius!

  • wow..they look alike!!!

  • 2:34 to 2:37 Best special effects on syndicated TV right there!

  • That's one thing I noticed that you sounded less nasally than Weird Al Yankovic. But, it's probably for the better based on what you said about him losing his voice midway through his concerts. Many of the vocalists that scream or growl in their bands' songs do warmups between song takes and before shows so that they don't permanently damage their vocal chords.

  • I watched most of Season 1 of Your Big Break and the stand out performances to me were the guys who sang as Frankie Valley and Louie Armstrong. However, some perfomances sounded forced almost as if they were doing karaoke rather than trying to sound like their favorite artist.

  • @Rawk4Life That's true. I thought it was funny that the show's vocal coach was having me practice my nasal tones. Speaking of vocal coaches, did you know that Al had to take vocal lessons because he was damaging his voice? He would lose his voice mid-way through shows. Now he has an amazing vocal range, thanks to coaching. Thanks for the comment! =)

  • @Mhebner23 Sure, lots of them. I sing them at my karaoke show.
