I play the best-know of all O'Carolan compositions: "Sí Bheag Sí Mhór", inspired by a legendary fight between the inhabitants of enchanted valleys. Many folks believe it to be O'Carolan's first composition. There are several versions of this piece. At the beginning, I have learned to play it with El McMeen's arrangement, in standard tuning; later, I have re-arranged this tune in Dropped-D (DADGBE), that I find better for the sound.
The guitar is a McIlroy A25 (Cedar/Walnut): very right for this kind of music.
