BTW folks - the Wachowskis did a seriously cool thing here. At 0:16 - the older gentleman in the yellow shirt and fedora who is commenting on the race?
That's Peter Fernandez, who VOICED Speed Racer in the American dub over all those years ago.
Check the credits - he's listed there as "Local Announcer".
I knew this movie was a love letter to the old cartoon, but when they actually let the guy who voiced the original have a major cameo, you KNOW they have a lot of class.
