Ah! Callas and Tebaldi are both great but in a huge different way. sometimes, they both suck at something, sometimes, they've achieved something new. They are different. they both sing opera. they both have different styles in their performances.
Somehow, there is no point in comparing their performances already, because they're done with their parts. the way they sang it will always be the same.

@oPeRa1923 I totally agree with your opinion and I am shure that this kind of sopranos we have to find again and feature them more and we have to fight against this OPERAMAFIA and all the bad agents and directors and boring singers who are only recordible and good looking on TV ....

I'm sorry...i've been misunderstood!! What I wanted to say is that for me the best Carmen i've ever heard (and i've heard several editions!) is Leontyne Price, but of course it's a matter of taste " De gustibus non disputandum est"...

For a supposed 'Carmen lover', you sure are close-minded about interpratations. There is no 'only' Carmen, each person presents Carmen in a different way and each interpretation is valid.

I love her laughter in this record. I feel her Carmen is better than Callas's record. Certainly, Callas didn't like Carmen, but she had sung it in concert.
