This is video of Mario Kart: Double Dash for the Nintendo Gamecube being played online with a program called Xlink Kai. ( http://www.teamxlink.co.uk/ )
Xlink lets you play PS2 games online even once their online servers are taken down. This means that Xbox, Gamecube, and Playstation 2 games can be played online forever. Although, as this video shows, Gamecube Games work terrible over Xlink. Until internet speeds improve to an insane amount, Gamecube games will never work well over LAN Tunneling programs like Xlink Kai.

However, if you live relatively close to the other Gamecube tunneler, Games like Mario Kart: Double Dash can be playable. The match in this video was going between me in California and another guy in New Jersey (a very long distance in case geography is not your strong point hehe)

But, I have played this game online over Xlink Kai with somebody who lived 60 or 70 miles away from me. So, if you are lucky enough to find someone living in your general area, you can LAN tunnel this game without the frame rate turning the game into slow motion.

Xlink Kai works by using a game's LAN to trick the game into thinking players across the world are playing on its Local Area Network (LAN).

  • this is fake there is no online mode in mkdd so this=fake

  • @yoshiller64 Umm... lol. This isnt a video of the online mode for this game, since as you pointed out that doesnt exist. This is a video of the LAN mode of the game being played online through a LAN tunneling program called Xlink Kai. The title and video description explain that.

  • just play the wii with a gc controller n use gc courses

  • @caolanr8 Well I don't own a wii heh. Also I really like this game because of how you can have 2 characters with different abilities for each car.

  • No way when I played this back in 2003-2005 the connection didn't suck like this I am in Texas and played with people in Oklahoma, Missisipi, well almost every state in the Central Time zone and wasnt like this and also I remember it being full with Gamecubes connected what happenned to that?

  • @Jermz1997 Well I say in the video that I tunneled this while I was in California and the other player was in New Jersey. That is across the country. Also, the speed of your network connection is a factor in how GC games will run over LAN tunneling. Still, GC games tunnel worse then games on other consoles because of how the GC games are designed to work over LAN modes.
