Rev. Carmine Saginario

All leading to our 40th anniversary celebration in October, each week RCCM will feature a Historical Picture of the Week. This week's photo is from September, 1972. It shows Pastor Galvano on the day of his ordination.

He was ordained by the brethren of the CCNA, The Christian Church of North America. The CCNA was a thriving movement which led hundreds of churches in the USA and Canada. From the very origins of RCCM, it was a shining star in the CCNA. Larger and more mature churches would routinely look to the "church in Rochester" at our tremendous growth in every area. The CCNA's national convention usually featured the new and exciting things happening in Rochester every year.

At that time in 1972, the leader and General Overseer of the CCNA was Rev. Carmine Saginario (pictured in the center of the frame looking to his right) -- a dearly remembered leader and true father to the pastors in the movement. Pastor Stephen Galvano took a memorable trip to Cleveland this past week to reunite with Rev. Saginario -- now 94 -- after nearly 30 years. We are thrilled to announce that Rev. Saginario will be with us next month here at RCCM for our 40th anniversary celebration and will be sharing.

While in Cleveland, RCCM staff video-interviewed Rev. Saginario and his profound and eloquent comments will be part of a very special film that will premiere at the anniversary. The film will document RCCM's history.
